LinkedCells Privacy Policy
Our privacy philosophy at LinkedCells is simple - your data is your data. We do not seek to lock you in to our platform by holding your data hostage, but instead seek to offer you an exceptional service. We believe you should be able to share and collaborate on our platform in a secure, hosted environment.
The following outlines what information we collect, what we do with it, and how you can determine how information about you is used.
Information Collection and Use: In the registration process, we collect: registration information from our users including name, email, and password. Each type of information is used to provide the LinkedCells service. Registration information is used to authenticate users and recall their data and contact information is used to provide information on service updates.
In the operation of the LinkedCells service, we collect and store user information that is raw data input into the LinkedCells application. All user information contained within the application you may use or build on the LinkedCells platform will remain your property. LinkedCells will continue to make that data available to you on the LinkedCells platform as long as you are a user. And, at your request, make that data available to you upon the termination of your relationship with LinkedCells.
If at some point LinkedCells sells all or a portion of its assets, or merges with another entity, user information is an asset that may be transferred or acquired by a third party. We will notify all affected users of any such transaction and, consistent with our privacy promises, users will have the opportunity to retrieve their user information and cease usage of the LinkedCells service. After such a transaction, the third party that becomes the custodian of the user information would have the right to continue using the user information solely as set forth in this policy. LinkedCells may also collect and analyze from visitors and users certain information regarding the use of LinkedCells services and LinkedCells site activity. Information collected may include but is not limited to web site traffic volume, frequency of visits, type and time of transactions, type of browser and operating system, etc. This information is logged to help diagnose technical problems, administer the site, and improve the quality and types of service delivered. We may provide non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information derived from the actions of our visitors and customers to third parties in order to demonstrate the value we deliver to users. We must comply with laws applicable in rare circumstances requiring disclosure of data to law enforcement authorities or third parties.
Protection of Personal Information: Information may be shared with third parties who provide services related to operation of the LinkedCell services. LinkedCells will not otherwise sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties in personally identifiable form without your express permission.
Tell-A-Colleague:If you add a colleague’s e-mail to your contacts list, LinkedCells will automatically send the friend a one-time email introducing them to LinkedCells. The only other reason we store this information is to allow you to publish information to this colleague.
Security: LinkedCells has implemented processes designed to protect user information and maintain security. Each registered user is assigned a unique user name and password which is required to access their user information. It is the user's responsibility to protect the security of their login information. LinkedCells’ servers are located in secure server environments. Firewalls and other advanced security technologies are employed to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. These safeguards help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of data.
User Account & Password: When you create a user account, upon completing LinkedCells registration process you will receive a password and account designation. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password, and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account. You agree to immediately notify LinkedCells of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security. LinkedCells is not liable to you for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this Section.
Correction/Updating Personal Information: If your personally identifiable information changes (such as your e-mail address), or if you no longer choose to use our products, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove your personal data provided to us. Please contact customer service at support@linkedcells.com.
If you choose to cancel your account and leave the LinkedCells service, please be aware that LinkedCells may for a time retain residual information in our backup and/or archival copies of our database. We will make reasonable commercial efforts to delete your information as soon as possible after you communicate that intention to us.
Disclosure of Personal Information As Required By Law: We will disclose personal information when required by law, or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on us.
